X.O.X.O. Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl is an American teen drama series based on the book series written by Cecily von Ziegesar however the series was directed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. I like the way each episode was narrated by an unseen blogger voiced by Kristen Bell. Gossip Girl following the lives of five privileged young adults lived on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in New York City. The few main leads are Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford).

Beside the five teenagers mentioned above, there are other characters appeared as well which are Jenny Humphrey a.k.a Dan’s younger sister, Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr), Lily van der Woodsen a.k.a Serena’s mother (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus Humphrey a.k.a Dan’sfather (Matthew Settle).

Gossip Girl is the one show that I will admit to love to watch. The characters are interesting, and gorgeous so are the never ending situations they get into. The script is witty and full of sarcasm. Unfortunately, “Gossip Girl” novels have no underlying moral lesson. That being said about the show, the characters in the book seem very one dimensional whereas the characters on the show have personality. I think the television show is great and can't compare the show and the book. The show is always going to be different from the book. In this case though, the show is better.

And not to forget the catchy tag line, the narrator begins with the sentence

"Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite," and usually ends the episode with

"You know you love me. X.O.X.O. Gossip Girl."
