Psychic medium, "The Mentalist"

As much as I like crime dramas, there are so many of them being offered on TV right now. One of it is “The Mentalist”, the latest American crime drama to make its way and so far, it is proving itself to be a promising show which hopefully will continue to flourish. The show revolves around Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) a.k.a “Mentalist” who uses his unique skills to help the California Bureau of Investigation solve crimes. However, Patrick is no psychic, he relies upon acute observation and mind games to trick the culprit into confessing (and sometimes with other members of the unit) to solve the case.

He admits to faking the supernatural aspects of his skills often asserting that "there’s no such thing as psychics"; however, he has finely honed skills in cold reading, hypnotism, pick pocketing as well as powerful skills of observation and a deep insight into the human psyche and behavior. These skills come in handy in every episode and his unorthodox and bizarre techniques to solve crimes sometimes offend the team of agents he works with. Patrick Jane is a funny character to watch. =)
